The Western was perfect for our needs: a short walk from the train: we were able to leave our bags and walk over to the Tate and Hepworth museums, stroll the beach and return for check in by 2PM. The desk is unmanned, but there is a phone on the desk that rings directly to someone who responds quickly. The building is a bit of a maze, but i eventhually found the room which was clean. Breakfasts are wonderful (although you have to book a time in advance). Theres a co op across the street, restaurants within a three minute walk and a pub next door. Bottom line is great location, clean and good breakfast.

The Western is a great place to stay close to all shops and places of interest within walking distance (if you are fit and dont mind hills). We stayed for a party in the function room which was just perfect, great buffet food and cost atmosphere with the Tiffany style lamps. My only complaint was no carpet in our room but bed was comfy and shower very nice. Towels were a good size. We dont drink instant coffee but there was plenty provided in the room. Breakfast was amazing, a full English with cereals, fruit, yogurts etc. Staff were very friendly. The Kettle n Wink was Jam night on the Saturday which was very enjoyable.

We had the absolute pleasure of being welcomed by Izzy after a long 4-hour drive, and her hospitality made all the difference. From the moment we arrived, she greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel completely at ease. After such a tiring journey, her friendly demeanor and genuine warmth were exactly what we needed.

Izzy was also fantastic behind the bar—professional, attentive, and always ready with great recommendations. She went above and beyond to make sure we were well looked after, and it truly elevated our experience. We honestly couldn’t have asked for better service.

Great time in lovely central hotel. Nice room for single person in double bed. Warm and welcoming. Nothing too much trouble. Lovely room, quiet and cosy. Free toiletries and big towels. Hot shower. Extra pillows, blankets and heater. Welcoming lounge with comfy sofas. Excellent breakfast with welcoming friendly staff.

I stayed two nights at this hotel. My room was very spacious and clean. Breakfast in the morning excellent with various different chouces. The location of the propertt is central and within walking sitance you are in the center or at the beach

Our night at the Western for Burns night supper was outstanding. The food was spot on and plenty of it. The bar was very busy... as it should be... and the bar staff were so efficient and polite. I am definitely coming back for this next year.

Highly recommended.
